Installation of OBIEE 11g: Part 2

In previous Post we have created BI Platform and MDS schema. Now we will continue with our OBIEE installation.

Before proceeding make sure you have all installation files downloaded.

Now unzip all the files. You will get a folder structure like this

Go to Disk1 and run setup.exe.

Click Next on welcome screen.

Select skip software updates. Click on Next.

Select Enterprise Install. Click Next.

Once check is done, click on Next.

Select Create New BI System. Provide username and password. This account will act as administrator account to access OBIEE applications. Click on Next.

Provide installation patch. It will automatically populate other fields. Click Next.

Check first two options as in below screen-shot. Click on Next.

Provide BIPLATFORM schema details as created in previous post. Click Next.

Provide MDS schema details and click on Next.

Keep port configuration as auto, click on Next.

If you get JAVA window for asking permission, provide necessary permissions.

Uncheck ‘I wish to receive…’ and click on Next.

Review summary and click on Install.

If installer ask for another Disk files, use browse button and provide path up to stage folder of Disk.

Once installation is completed, configuration will start.

If you get pop-ups for firewall access, click on Allow Access.

Once configuration is done click on Finish. You should be able to access BI Publisher using URL :port/xmlpserver and Analytics from URL :port/xmlpserver
